API provided an Airflow Systems DustPakR PowerBooth a self-contained weld and grinding work environment, removing airborne contaminants from worker breathing zones and preventing pollutants from migrating into other areas of the facility.

Middle School Woodshop

School District contacted API to provide a design and installation of new NFPA compliant dust collection system for their woodshop program. New System includes Dust Collector fitted with explosion relief panels, Abort Gate, Spark detection, and no return valve.

Vehicle Exhaust Removal System

API was contacted to design a properly sized vehicle exhaust removal system, the systems located in (2) buildings included Movex hose reels Movex’s hose reels allow the length and dimensions of the hose to be adapted to the needs of the worksite and according to the planned installation height. 100% of the exhaust gases are removed safely from the building.

Welding School Application: Welding School Location: Fort Dix Army Base Ft. Dix, NJ

The Army base at Fort Dix, New Jersey was looking for fume/smoke collection equipment for their new welding school on the base and contacted the local Micro Air distributor. The Army Major in charge of the project had some pretty tough criteria that the chosen supplier had to meet including design, fabrication and complete installation of 12 welding stations prior to a 3-Star General’s visit in exactly 4 weeks. Something to Snack OnFrench fries and chips are served hot, either soft or crispy, and appear on menus in restaurants, diners, pubs, and bars around the world. The entire process of manufacturing frozen french fries is done by machines.Potatoes roll along conveyor belts, and are sorted by size. Long, oval potatoes are designated for long, strip fries, while small, round potatoes are used for curly fries. Once separated, the potatoes are steamed and dropped onto another machine, where the skin is removed. From there, they make their way to another machine that cuts them into the appropriate shape and dips them in a dextrose sugar and sodium acid pyrophosphate to maintain their color.

Coffee production is the industrial process of converting the raw coffee plant into the finished coffee we enjoy each day. This process that keeps most of us going every morning generally consists of sorting, cleaning, roasting, cooling, and packaging. After the beans are sorted and cleaned, they are placed into a customized roaster, which brings the internal temperature of the beans up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Roasting beans is all about forcing the polysaccharides to the surface of the bean. As these sugars caramelize, the color changes from green to brown. From there, the beans are poured onto a cooling try where they are kept in motion while air is sucked through the perforated metal grate, chilling down the beans.

A bulk materials conveyor system is successful if the conveyed material is properly transferred from either conveyor-to-conveyor or into storage bins and stockpiles. A conveyor system’s design has historically been focused on the structural integrity of the system and the selection of the mechanical components. Visible dust produced during the transfer of coal can cause several problems. The dust generated can not only cause a haze in the air, reducing visibility, it can also build up in conveyor mechanical components, causing component failure and unexpected maintenance requirements.

Deep frying has been around for nearly a thousand years. The process consists of completely submerging battered food in oil at temperatures ranging from 350 °F to 375 °F (177 °C to 191 °C). Once the food has been submerged in the oil, heat conducts throughout the food causing proteins to denature, starches to undergo gelatinization, and dietary fiber to soften. As the sugars and proteins break down, a golden brown exterior is created.
